Reza Derakshani is a noted painter, musician and performance artist born in Sangsar, a small village in northeast Iran.  A former professor at the University of Tehran, Derakshani returned to the United States, where he had previously done art studies, in the aftermath of the Islamic revolution.  Derakshani’s currently lives in Dubai. His work has been exhibited and collected around the world.
