Opening of JAMM's inaugural Contemporary Art exhibition in Kuwait
On Sunday 20th November JAMM opened its inaugural Contemporary Art exhibition in Kuwait.
Artists included: Farhad Moshiri, Hassan Hajjaj, Farideh Lashai, Katya Traboulsi, Parviz Tanavoli, Ahmad Mater, Fereydoun Ave, Nargess Hashemi, Iman Raad, Shahrzad Changlavaee, Yahsar Samimi Mofakham among others.
Lectures on Contemporary Middle Eastern Art at the Sotheby's Institute, London
With Middle Eastern Contemporary Art exerting an ever greater presence in galleries, auction calendars and international art fairs, this six week evening course examined the art and artists emerging from this rich and culturally diverse region.
Rose Issa conducted the first three lectures. Lulu Al-Sabah conducted the lectures on 31 May and 7 June 2011.
Peace by Toby event at the Athr Gallery in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Donated works by celebrated Middle Eastern photographers were sold to raise funds to rebuild a school devastated by the January 2011 floods in Jeddah. Toby designer Hatem Al Akeel spearheaded the project.
Participating photographers included HRH Reem Al Faisal, Sheikha Lateefa Bint Maktoom, Ibi Ibrahim, Aya Haidar, Michel Haddi, Shurooq Amin, Sina Ata, Sueraya Shaheen, Sara Binladen, Helmi Sagaff and Joanna Tolner.
Kuwait Contemporary Art auction 2011
JAMM hosted it's 2nd auction in Kuwait on 9th February 2011.
The event featured 90 works by emerging and established Arab, Iranian and International artists.
Ahead of the auction a public exhibition of the artworks took place on the 8th of February 2011 from 5pm to 7pm at The Avenues, Kuwait.
The auction was conducted by renowned auctioneer, Aileen Agopian, with 10% of the proceeds from the auction sale benefiting a Kuwait based non-profit organization, KAACH, the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital.

On Thursday 7th October JAMM opened its inaugural Contemporary Art exhibition.
Artists included: Al Braithwaite, Sacha Jafri, Aya Haidar, Bright Ugochukwu Eke,
Lale Tara, Mohamed Abdulla, Sharif Waked, Shezad Dawood and Sonia Balassanian.
JAMM Discussion on Cultural Hybridity, Identity and Contemporary Art
On Tuesday 5th October JAMM invited revered critical theorist Professor Homi K. Bhabha, Director of Humanities and Professor of English and American Literature and Language, at Harvard University and Hans Ulrich Obrist, curator at the Serpentine Gallery in London, to engage in a discussion on cultural hybridity, identity and contemporary art.
JAMM High Tea
On the afternoon of 17th March, JAMM Art founders Sheikha Lulu Al-Sabah & Lydia Limerick hosted a High Tea for collectors, patrons and artists present for Art Dubai week. Held in Celebrities private room, The One & Only Royal Mirage, guests included Farideh Lashai, Mishaal Al-Gergawi, Maryam Eisler, Juan Eyheremendy and Reza Derakshani.
Kuwait Contemporary Art auction 2010
JAMM hosted it's inaugural auction on 17th February 2010 in Kuwait. The event showcased over 50 works by renowned Middle Eastern and Western artists. A first for Kuwait, the auction provided an opportunity for both new and existing clients in the GCC region and beyond to add to their collections of contemporary art. Keeping in mind the fast-growing appetite and appreciation for quality artworks at the right price, all pieces had estimates under 5,000 KD ($17,500).
The auction was graciously conducted by Aileen Agopian, Director of Contemporary Art, New York, at Phillips de Pury & Company. 30% of the profits benefited a Kuwait-based non-profit organization, K'S PATH.
The event was generously supported by Sima Capital, Mandarin, Tijara, Bayan Investment and Pilates and More.
